Why Dance

There are many activities out there for children, so why choose dance?

FOR PHYSICAL, EMOTIONAL, AND MENTAL HEALTH

Dance combines the physical strength and conditioning of a sport, the emotional connection of art, and amazing mental health benefits by combining physical movement, emotional connectivity, music, and expression.

INCREASED COGNITIVE DEVELOPMENT

Dance has been proven to increase cognitive development. Dancers have above average spatial skills, problem-solving skills, and are better critical thinkers.

CONFIDENCE BOOSTER

As a dancer gains control over every single part of their body, their confidence grows. Dancers also get to experience a unique season – working hard preparing for many months for one large performance, resulting in an amazing boost to their confidence levels.

DEVELOPS IMPORTANT SKILLS

Dancers are stronger than their non-dancing peers at: creative thinking, problem-solving, spatial relationships, memorization, sequencing, and time management.

LOW INJURY RATE

Dance has a much lower injury rate than other sports. When an injury does occur in dance, it is typically not serious.
